What is halal

Halal is an Arabic word that translates to "permissible or lawful" into English
In the Qur'an the word halal is contrasted with Haram. This opposition was elaborated into more complex classification known as the five decision: mandatory recommended, neutral, reprehensible and forbidden.
The term halal is particularly associated with Islamic dietary law. And especialy meat processed and prepared in accordance with this requirement.
In the Qur'an the word halal and Haram are the usual term used in Qur'an to differentiate the categories of lawful or allow and unlawful or forbidden.
The most common Haram, example of Haram (none halal food is pork. While pork is the only meat the categorically may not be consumed by the Muslim (the Qur'an forbid it sura 2:175 and 16:115)
other Food that is not purity are also considered as Haram. The criteria for non pork items include there source, and the cause of the animal death and how it was processed.
Muslims also ensure that food's ( particularly processed foods) as well as non food items like pharmaceutical, and cosmetic are halal and intoxicants such as alcoholic A Muslim who would otherwise starve to death is allowed to eat non- halal food if there is no halal food available
Some way you can prevent yourself from Haram:
- An animal should not be death prior to slaughter
- A Muslim should perform the slaughter
- Any flowing blood of carcass should be completely drained
- choice of modera and Vogue method has to be considered with caution and it should be in Lin with Islamic principles.

For example, animal has to be fed as normal and given water prior to slaughter, one animal must not see the other being slaughtered, knife should be four times the size of the neck and razor sharp, and as far as possible the slaughterer and the animal should face the Qibla or Mecca and the animal must not be suffering from any ailments or any lacerations.Since pork is forbidden, halal slaughtering must not be done where pork are been slaughtered
